Scar products that really work!

In 2007 I suffered an injury to my eye. A line drive base ball right to the face. The ball shattered the right eye's orbital floor (eye socket) and left about an inch and a half gash across my cheek. After 3 surgeries to repair the blowout fracture, my plastic surgeon gave me a bottle of scarguard They carried this product in the office so it must work I thought. I used it regliously for months. 2-3 times a day. Today, 15 years later, the scar is not noticeable at all. No one sees it and they all say "your doctor did an amazing job fixing you up, you can't even tell!" I know the doctor had a major hand in the repair but i truly believe if i had not used this product, the scar's appearance might of been much different. I always recommend this product to folks if they have a scar. I only came to leave a review because I believe in this product so wholeheartedly, that, when a neighbor child got bite by a dog on her face recently, I knew I had to order her a bottle.

The red plug will keep the product from drying out inside the bottle (it will definitely dry up in the bottle the more it is exposed to air.)

This stuff is fantastic! I've used many other highly rated scar products but nothing comes close to what scarguard has done for me. Almost a year ago I was attacked and left with a thick, raised, five inch scar on my forearm. Since the first day I was okayed to do scar treatment I've been doing everything I could to reduce the appearance of my scar. Having to attend court is enough reminder of my attacker without the bright red scar that gets me stares everywhere I go. Since I started using scarguard I've noticed a significant improvement. Every other product I used made a subtle difference that gave me tiny bits of relief but using this has been such a dramatic difference. My scar is no longer raised a third of an inch nor is bright red anymore. It is now almost completely flush with my skin and it is more pink in appearance. The brush on scar treatment started helping so quickly that I noticed a difference after just the first week. I was so happy that I cried, no shame. My advice is that if you are worried about your scar's appearance or you get panic attacks or terrible looks from others because of it like I did then use this. I wouldn't be writing this if it hadn't made such a difference for me, and I've only been using it for a month. I'd say to only brush on one layer otherwise you could make it too thick and it'll peel up faster. Also, keep whatever area your scar is on straight and don't let anything rub against it for about five minutes after applying. It only takes one minute to dry, but if you're like me and your scar is near an area that bends or moves lots then it will peel up faster. I've found that applying and keeping my arm still and uncovered for roughly five minutes insures the treatment won't peel or crack for about eight-nine hours. There is no need to peel the first layer off when you reapply though you can. I peel it off before reapplying because it itches having the loose part still on but I know that it doesn't do that to everybody. Use twice a day and you'll start seeing impertinent impressively fast.

Recommend this to anyone who has gotten a scar to help its appearance. How this worked for me was that it minimized the red pigmentation that my scar left behind extremely quickly and improved the texture and appearance in a way that simply leaving the scar alone wouldn't have. Maybe the best way to describe it is to say that it helps scar tissue blend in with normal skin in texture and appearance. I have recommended this to many friends and all of them agree that it helped minimize the appearance and hyperpigmentation.

I've used other roller-applicator silicone gels before with mixed results -- this seems to work better since you get a thicker (but still quite thin) layer. I've been using it for about three weeks and my raised scar has gone almost completely flat. Even when I'm looking for it, it's very hard to see. The average person probably wouldn't notice it at all.

I like this product, have to be consistent in use. It really smoothed out my scar almost to the point where you can't tell. Wish I had taken pics but the YouTube video of the girl that suffered from a big scar on face is similar to mine on the nose and so the healing has been pretty impressive. Consistency is vital here.

I’ve been using this product at the recommendation of my plastic surgeon since November 1, 2017. Today is January 17, 2018. Pictured are scars from my breast augmentation. The top pictures are right and left taken on November 1. Bottom are right and left taken this morning. I put this on AT LEAST once every day before bed, but sometimes twice if I remember to put it on in the morning. I follow the instructions by painting a thin layer and let dry for at least 20 seconds before I get dressed. It has a strong chemical smell when wet, but is odorless when dried. Like I said, I’ve been using every day for a couple months, but have only just now run out, and am ordering more now. I also used it on some 2 year old laparoscopic scars and can see the difference in how much it has even made them fade. I HIGHLY recommend this product. My scars are significantly faded compared to a friend’s breast augmentation scars in the same place, done by the same doctor, but she did not use a scar repair medication. IT REALLY WORKS!!!

I have a small keloid leftover from a long-closed cartilage piercing that gets irritated when headphones or my glasses hit it to much. I put neosporin on it for years without much relief. This stuff calmed it down immediately and shrunk its size overnight. I can't speak for larger keloids, but this is exactly what I needed for my small one. This stuff is magical as far as I'm concerned.

I just had major surgery with an awful incision scar with 22 staple scars around it! This product has given me the ability to soften the scar (not keloid) and made it so much less noticeable. Its so easy to use too! I just brush it on everyday 2x a day, its a miracle! So much better than other brands I have tried in the past.

I have a terrible habit of turning a tiny breakout into a scab that never seals. It dries out and I pick and circle continues for a VERY long time. If on the face, make up just makes it worse. THIS product works miracles. It closes up the scar, makes the scab go away and smooths out the skin. If a scab used to take 4 months to seal (not kidding) it now heals in a week!!

Sustained a laceration above my lip about a year ago. My scar is pretty noticeable, I’ve tried silicone sheets, ‘scar creams and liquids’, mederma, and ultimately gave up on it and decided that was it. Luckily this came in the mail today and upon application it already conceals like 90% of my scar which I’m pretty stoked for. I think I’ll be sticking to this one.

Scarguard was recommended to me after I had gotten bit in the face by a dog. I ended up with a nasty scar on my cheek and nose. I used scarguard continuously for 3 months and it is barely noticeable anymore. I'm so glad I found this product, I can't imagine what my face would look like it I didn't use this daily.

I purchased this to help with a new scar after surgery. It was easy to use, smelled horrible, hard to remove from the skin. I had a reaction to this product or I would give it a 5 star rating. I was unable to see if it worked due to the reaction but I purchased this based on a recommendation from Dr. Moretz a plastic surgeon in LA. I’m sure he has seen excellent results or he would not have recommended this to a family friend.

Does a good job of helping to hide a bad scar on face. The scar-guard material will show so I applied make-up over it and it worked very well. It certainly made me much less self-conscious! Small bottle goes a long way! I cannot say for sure that it helps the scar to heal since the improvement could just as well be passage of time. Expect continued healing and improvement over six month.

After a year post-op, I finally tried this product. It was more effective in the first week than any of the expensive silicone sheets and gels that I have used in the past. I highly recommend!

I was recommended this product buy a physicians assistant and I can say this truly does the job! I have a new scar from a recent surgery and its really took the color of it down and has made it look so much better.

I've tried a wide array of scar repair products and this is by far the best. It was recommended by my esthetician for use on my face to repair stitch incisions. I used it along with mepitac tape. I saw visible improvement using this product. Highly recommend!

There's new packaging and that threw me off because I thought I got a knock off product, but it seems to be the same thing. I love this stuff though. It really works great on fresh scars and new cuts and helps minimize the scar in the long run.

Easy to put on dries fast stays on even after you’ve worked all day and clothing! Great product and my fresh scars from Surgery exactly one month from today are slowly vanishing! Very impressed!

Works well takes some time. Use scotch tape on the previous application to remove it. Then apply a new layer. I wouldnt use anything else. Worked on my thigh that had a gnarly scar, and now using it on my hand. Please use sunblock on your hands ( sun from driving) and face. Save yourselves from MOHS surgery for skin cancer.

Best scar treatment ever. I have been using it for a scar on my nose. I had a large Basal Cell cancer removal and it has eliminated the scar. I continue to use it for prevention.

Great product! Dries quickly and minimizes the scar. Consistency is the key. My scars definitely appear more smoother and less red.
