What is Solarguard MD™ and why is it different from other sunscreen lotions?
Solarguard MD is a micro-targeted sunscreen formulated specifically for the protection of healing scars and sensitive skin areas. It provides UVA/UVB protection against the sun’s harmful rays with an SPF of 70. It is immediately absorbed by the skin while leaving it soft and without feeling greasy.

When should I use Solarguard MD?
We believe that new scars resulting from surgery or injury should be protected from exposure to the sun for up to six months. According to doctors, failure to protect scars, recently injured skin and other high-risk skin area from sun exposure can cause permanent darkening. Use Solarguard everyday even under clothing since sun damage can occur even though skin is lightly covered.

What are UVA and UVB rays and how does Solarguard MD help
UVA Rays are long-wave solar rays. They are responsible for aging the skin. Prolonged exposure to UVA rays cracks and shrinks the collagen and elastin of our skin. The degradation of the elasticity of the skin causes wrinkles, sagging, and leathery skin that accompany aging. UVA can also induce some skin cancers including melanomas.

UVB Rays are short-wave solar rays.  UVB rays are more potent than UVA in producing sunburn.  Therefore these rays are considered the main cause of skin cancers such as carcinomas and melanomas.  UVB rays stimulate the melanocyte cell which produces the brown pigment Melanin.

Solarguard MD is specially-formulated to provide protection from both UVA and UVB rays.

How often should Solarguard MD be applied?
Solarguard should be applied 20 minutes before any sun exposure. It should be reapplied after swimming, towel drying or perspiring.

Can Solarguard MD be used by children?
Yes, however we recommend that you ask your doctor or health provider before using on infants under 6 months of age. You should always keep Solarguard out of reach of children and if swallowed immediately seek help or contact a Poison Control Center right away
